Healthy at the wrong time

Now that they’re all but eliminated from playoff contention, the Redskins are the healthiest they’ve been on a Wednesday in weeks.

The only players in sight and not practicing are running back Clinton Portis (neck, ribs, knee), offensive tackle Jon Jansen (knee) and linebacker London Fletcher (foot). Guard Pete Kendall (knees) rests every Wednesday.

The biggest news was linebacker Marcus Washington being on the field after missing four weeks with a high ankle sprain. Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (abdominal strain) and safety Chris Horton (sprained shoulder), who both sat out last Sunday, had their helmets, as did defensive tackles Kedric Golston (ankle) and Anthony Montgomery (hip), cornerback Shawn Springs (calf) and guard Randy Thomas (neck).
