No Springs, Washington

← return to Redskins 360

Cornerback Shawn Springs (calf) and linebacker Marcus Washington (hamstring) are inactive joining third defensive starter Jason Taylor (calf). Fred Smoot, H.B. Blades and Demetric Evans will start in their places. And Jon Jansen will start again for Stephon Heyer (shoulder) at right tackle. Coach Jim Zorn had expected Washington to start, but he’ll miss a second straight game. And Springs’ calf just didn’t recover although Zorn had held out hope until this morning.

Washington’s other inactives are safety Justin Hamilton, offensive lineman Chad Rinehart and defensive end Rob Jackson. Colt Brennan is the third quarterback.

Meanwhile, stud running back Brian Westbrook is back for Philadelphia after missing last week with a sprained ankle. Guard Shawn Andrews and receiver Kevin Curtis remain sidelined for the Eagles. Max- Jean Gilles and DeSean Jackson will start in their places.
