Perusing the series history between the Redskins and the Saints, I discovered some weird things.

They were in the same division in 1967 and 1969 but in different divisions in 1968.

Vince Lombardi’s last victory as coach of the Redskins and Norv Turner’s first victory as coach of the Redskins were both over the Saints. With Shawne Merriman done for the year, that might well be the last time that Turner’s name is mentioned in the same sentence as Lombardi’s for a while.

And here’s an addition to the gloom that has enveloped Redskins Nation the last three weeks: the road team has won each of the last five five games in the series. New Orleans won here in 2002 and 2003. Washington won in The Big Easy in 1994, 2001 and 2006.
