Kedric Golston re-signed his restricted free agent tender with the Redskins this afternoon. Golston, who will make $1.545 million this season, followed fellow third-year defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery and kicker Shaun Suisham in returning to the Redskins after becoming a restricted free agent on Feb. 27.

Golston, a sixth-round draft choice out of Georgia in 2006, started 13 games as a rookie after veteran Joe Salave’a was injured, backed up Montgomery in 2007 and reclaimed the job in 2008, starting 12 games. However, Golston, who turns 26 in May, is expected to return to a reserve role this season behind prime free agent signee Albert Haynesworth.

The Redskins only offered tenders to Golston, Montgomery and Suisham. Washington didn’t tender safety Reed Doughty, but he re-signed anyway on Mar. 10. Center Justin Geisinger and linebacker Rian Wallace weren’t tendered and aren’t expected to return.
