Heyward-Bey to Raiders

Maryland receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey just went seventh overall to the Raiders. The last Terp to go in the top 10 was tight end Vernon Davis, the sixth choice to San Francisco in 2006.

Offensive tackle Eugene Monroe was the next choice, leaving Texas passrusher Brian Orakpo and Mississippi tackle Michael Oher still on the board with the Redskins four picks away. Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree, considered the best receiver in the draft, is also still on the board. His selection would mean the Redskins don’t think Malcolm Kelly will ever be healthy enough to be a starter.
