The Redskins wrapped up their eighth day of practice with a 90-minute non-pads session.
The highlight was coach Jim Zorn taking a spill — while laughing — during the special teams drill. He evidently got a little close to the coverage team and when they broke, he had nowhere to go.
News from the practice:
*Not working were WR Devin Thomas (hamstring), WR Santana Moss (hamstring), LB Alfred Fincher (groin), G Rueben Riley (groin), DL J.D. Skolnitsky (hamstring) and DT Lorenzo Alexander (foot).
Moss isn’t concerned about his injury, which happened this morning when he semi-slipped/semi-dived for a catch.
“I have to make sure I’m ready when it’s time to to be ready,” Moss said. “But we go so hard, stuff like that happens and when it does, you don’t sit there mad, but you say, ‘It’s a part of what you go through.’”
Of his injury, Thomas said: “I’m not trying to miss any games or anything like that. I know everything and I’m on top of my playbook but I want to get out there as soon as I can.”
*LT Chris Samuels and LB London Fletcher were rested.
“They’re fine but we’re just resting them so they don’t get all the wear and tear,” Zorn said.
*RG Randy Thomas (knee) returned to the field for some individual drills.
*Jason Campbell’s best pass was a throw that he floated over the hands of CB DeAngelo Hall and into the hands of WR Antwaan Randle El.
*The practice ended with 4 vs. 4, 7 vs. 7 and 11 vs. 11.
*For the third time in four practices, the offense ran 50-yard sprints after the workout.
*Tomorrow is a light day for most of the starters — the only practice is special teams at 2 p.m.
