The numbers from today’s scrimmage at Redskin Park suggest the offense held its own. And that’s partly true, but there are some big-time warts on the performance.
The offense scored four touchdowns and one field goal and ran 57 plays — 41 “drive” plays starting at their own 30 or 40 and 18 “red zone” plays.
The quarterback stats: Jason Campbell was 8 of 12 for 60 yards, one TD, one INT. Todd Collins was 6 of 8 for 64 yards and 2 TDs. Colt Brennan was 4 of 6 for 33 yards and Chase Daniel was 3 of 4 for 21 yards. Combined, that’s 21 of 30 for 178 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT. Quarterbacks were sacked five times.
Thirteen Redskins caught at least one pass, led by Marko Mitchell’s 3 for 32 yards. Keith Eloi, Trent Shelton and Todd Yoder caught TD passes.
The offense rushed 15 times for 65 yards. Rock Cartwright rushed 4 times for 11 yards and Marcus Mason four times for 14 yards.

*The Redskins get back to work with practices at 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. tomorrow. There are no more open practices.
*Today’s announced attendance is 29,000 sounds a little high but I’m the worst ever at guessing attendances so since admission and parking were free, it is what it is. The interesting quote from owner Dan Snyder was about the incredible atmosphere. It wasn’t incredible. It was subdued. Next year, the Redskins should have a PA announcer describe some of the action and the players in the game and why consecutive plays were run on first down from the same spot of the field.
