No ticket price increase

The Redskins said today their ticket prices for 2009 will stay the same — the third straight year they have not raised prices.

According to a press release, the Redskins have increased prices only twice since 1999 (2000 and 2006), general tickets range in price from  $29 to $99 and the team’s season ticket allocation has been sold out since 1966.

As shown by laying off nearly two dozen employees last week, the Redskins’ decision is in response to the current economy (see Ben Goessling’s story in yesterday’s Times about how baseball teams are reacting).
