Wynn inactive in return to New York

Here are Washington’s inactives: running back Marcus Mason; offensive linemen D’Anthony Batiste, Chad Rinehart and Edwin Williams; defensive linemen Anthony Montgomery and Renaldo Wynn; linebacker Robert Henson and cornerback Kevin Barnes.

That means:

- Byron Westbrook is the fifth cornerback — ahead of third-round draft pick Barnes — after two years on the practice squad.

- All five receivers are active, including seventh-rounder Marko Mitchell.

- Montgomery, a starter in 2007 and the top backup defensive tackle in 2008, has fallen behind Lorenzo Alexander on the depth chart. Alexander has the advantage of playing on special teams.

- Only seven offensive linemen are active: the five starters, center-guard Will Montgomery and right tackle Mike Williams. If starting left tackle Chris Samuels gets hurt, starting right tackle Stephon Heyer would slide to that spot and Williams would take Heyer’s position.
