Among last week’s federal court filings in a lawsuit accusing the NCAA of not doing enough to protect athletes from head injuries is a 213-page report from Dr. Robert Cantu.

Prepared on behalf of the plaintiffs, the report examines the NCAA’s approach to concussions and proposes a detailed medical monitoring program to cover former NCAA athletes.

Cantu, co-director of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy at Boston University and senior advisor to the NFL’s Head, Neck and Spine committee, among a slew of positions, is one of the country’s leading voices on sports concussions.

An interesting nugget: Cantu billed the plaintiffs $800 per hour, for a total of $38,800.
