The only "crank" in an OLPC is . . . me

← return to Technology

To borrow a phrase: Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. I was wrong yesterday when I wrote that the One Laptop Per Child OLPC “XO model … runs on electricity and a hand-cranked battery.” There’s no crank involved; they dropped that idea “a long time ago,” says Peter Glaskowsky, a tech blogger for C-Net news, the online service.

Mr. Glaskowsky is quite an expert on the OLPC, and his writings are worth investigating.

My apologies for the error.
