Among HDTV brands to consider for holiday shopping, don’t forget Vizio, a reader in Leesburg, Va., says.

Responding to this morning’s Your Tech column about holiday shopping, reader Greg Pankau writes:

“…on the point about buying recognized brands with some history, I would like you to think about adding Vizio to that group now. They are a lot less money, than some of the bigger names, but just as good in quality. We have had a 46” Vizio HDMI HDTV for a couple years now, and are very happy with it. Bought it at Costco, for a couple hundred less than comparable models there, or at Best Buy. If you’re not familiar with Vizio, check them out.”

Mr. Pankau has a point: Vizio is a good brand, and while I don’t own one of their products, I’ve seen enough of them, in enough places, to be impressed. Here’s a link to the firm’s Web site, and please do keep those suggestions coming!
