Tent State University, one of scores of groups protesting the Democratic National Convention this week, is banking on star power to spread its message. Here’s my story in today’s paper.

Public Enemy is due up today Rage Against the Machine is headlining Wednesday. And, of course, former MC5 guitarist, Wayne Kramer is playing, too.

The Recording Industry Association of America is featuring Kanye West and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is hosting indie-rock outfits including The Cold War Kids.
