A fascinating exchange last night between the former president and Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show.”

The entire interview is worth watching, but here’s the clip where he talks about the general election campaign.

 

As has already been reported here and elsewhere, he again promised a vigorous campaign schedule for Sen. Barack Obama.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The best part starts around 3 minutes 30 seconds into this clip.

 

At around 5 minutes, 40 seconds, Clinton says “Let’s get real here” and notes that his wife has done more than any losing Democratic candidate in the last four decades for Obama.

 

On winning, he said, “We already got all the people that love us.”

 

As for the rest of the voters, “We’ve got to love them, not expect them to love us.”
