D.C. United will open their 2013 campaign against the team that ended their run in 2012, facing the Eastern Conference champion Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on March 2, the earliest start date in MLS history.
United will then play their home opener March 9 against Real Salt Lake before traveling a week later to face the New York Red Bulls in another playoff rematch.
It’s a challenging slate to kick off the new year, as all three opponents made the playoffs last season. Houston, which opened its new venue against United this past May, remains undefeated at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Here is a full list of the upcoming season’s opening matches. The full schedule will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
