Fourteen months after a broken leg derailed a career year for Chris Pontius, the D.C. United attacker has been rewarded for coming back better than ever in 2012.

Pontius on Monday was named to the MLS Best XI, capping a season in which the 25-year-old led United to the clubs first playoff berth since 2007, notching 12 goals and four assists while playing as a wide midfielder and forward.
