D.C. United will be without right back Andy Najar for both legs of their Eastern Conference final series against the Houston Dynamo after MLS on Friday announced the 19-year-old has received an additional two-game suspension for throwing the ball at referee Jair Marrufo on Saturday.

Najar received a second yellow card and was ejected for the incident, which occurred in the second half of United’s 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls in Game 1 of the conference semifinals. The Honduran served an automatic one-game suspension during D.C.’s 1-0 win over New York on Thursday in the second leg.

The MLS Players Union appealed the ruling on Najar’s behalf, but MLS commissioner Don Garber upheld the decision. Najar also received an undisclosed fine.

Should United advance, Najar will be eligible to play in the MLS Cup on Dec. 1.

Veteran Robbie Russell filled in for Najar in Game 2, going the full 90 minutes in his first start since July and assisting Nick DeLeon’s 88th-minute winner.
