In October of 2009, Tennessee Governor Phil Bresden, a Democrat, expressed his concerns to Senator Bob Corker (R – TN) and Rep. Bart Gordon (D – TN) about the fragile economic circumstances their home state was in.  He writes :

#1 UPDATE: Rep. Gordon has sent out a press release today stating he will be voting in favor of the health care bill.

Earlier story before the update below:

Mr. Gordon is currently leaning towards favoring the health care bill, but he will be retiring, so consideration for holding his seat is not an issue for him. Is he willing to jump on the Obamacare train and risk bankrupting his own state, or will he listen to a fellow party member and Tennessean pleading with him that supporting the Democrats’ health care agenda is a guaranteed economic blow to Tennessee?
