The mayor of Fargo, North Dakota has picked sides in the state’s House of Representatives race.

Mayor Dennis Walaker endorsed Democrat Earl Pomeroy in a YouTube video posted on Pomeroy’s election campaign channel Sunday. In the clip, Mr. Walaker praises Pomeroy’s help battling the March 2009 Red River flood which threatened Fargo with a crest of water 41 in. tall.

A different kind of flood awaits Pomeroy in November’s election. Anti-Democrat
sentiment is sweeping the nation as dissatisfaction towards the Obama administration and its supporters grows. A Sept. 23 Rasmussen poll shows Republican candidate Rick Berg beating Pomeroy by three percent in a poll of likely voters.
