Rev. Terry Jones the Gainesville Florida Pastor who planned to burn Korans on September 11, announced early Wednesday evening he is canceling the event...for now. Initially, the Florida pastor claimed to have struck a deal with supporters of the Ground Zero Mosque, but after his assertions were refuted by those behind mosque, Pastor Jones began reassessing his plans to cancel the Koran burning.

According to media reports, Pastor Jones announced, "Given what we are now hearing, we are forced to rethink our decision," Jones said. "So, as of right now, we are not canceling the event, but we are suspending it."

However other reports, say Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the founder behind the New York City mosque, told media he never spoke with Pastor Jones."We are not going to toy with our religion or any other," Rauf said. "Nor are we here to barter. We are here to extend our hand to build peace and harmony."

A number of powerful U.S. officials including: President Obama, General Petraeus, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates urged Pastor Jones to cancel the Koran burning.
