DADT is being replaced with TMI. Reports of new military sensitivity training with scenarios like “two junior male Marines in appropriate civilian attire assigned to your unit kissing and hugging in the food court” raise the question of how far the Pentagon will go in its new quest to promote sexual orientation diversity.

 

Gay Army

 

For a glimpse of the military of the future it might be time to revisit the 2006 reality show “Gay Army” in which “nine of the gayest men in Scandinavia” were put through a tough training regimen by former military drill instructors. The show aired in Sweden and Denmark and came under fire for its exaggerated stereotypes of both gays and service personnel. But given the Obama administration’s headlong rush to make the U.S. military into a laboratory for social experimentation, “Gay Army” may be the wave of the future.
