Donald Trump addressed reporters on Wednesday about the release of President Obama’s long form birth certificate, saying he (Trump) was “very proud” of himself for “playing a role” in the birth certificate’s release.

Mr. Trump went on to hammer Mr. Obama on the president’s college transcripts, which were never released during the 2008 campaign.

“Everyone says he was this great student. If he was that’s great. If he wasn’t that’s great. I was a very good student,” he said. “Education has always meant a lot to me. I think eduacation is good. I think if he wants to release it that’s fine. And if he doesn’t want to release it that’s fine. You’d think he’d want to release it. Because the way it is, he wasn’t a good student and he ended up getting into Columbia and Harvard. And I’d like to know how does he get into Harvard? How does he get into Columbia. If he isn’t a good student that’s an interesting thing.”
