The White House released to reporters on Wednesday morning President Barack Obama’s long form birth certificate. The birth certificate was posted on the White House website earlier this morning.
President Barack Obama told reporters on Wednesday he watched the birth certificate issue “with bemusement” and has “been puzzled” as to how long it has been able to stay in the news. “This thing just keeps on going,” he said.
“Normally I would not comment on something like this,” Mr. Obama said, making his remarks briefly after the White House released his long-form birth certificate.
“We have enormous challenges,” President stated, saying the nation will have “important debates” and decisions needed to be made. Blaming the birther issue for side-tracking these issues he said, “We’re not going to be able to do it if we’re distracted.” Mr. Obama referred to those calling for his birth certificate as “side shows” and “carnival barkers.”
“We do not have time for this kind of silliness,” he said.
