Fox News reporter Mike Tobin has been reporting from Madison, Wisconsin for a little over two weeks now, and the protesters have not made it easy for the Fox News crew to do live shots and stand ups. Mr. Tobin recently reported that a protester hit him, while the reporter was in the middle of a stand up. In the midst of rising tensions between state legislatures and unions on changes in labor's collective bargaining rights, Congressman Michael Capuano, Massachusetts told a union audience on Tuesday, "You have 'get a little bloody when necessary." Mr. Capuano found himself in the middle of a firestorm after that remark. Reminders that the Democrats have been calling for "civility" and a "new tone" rightfully surfaced. Colleges like Columbia University, who banned ROTC from their campus 42 years ago, would often cite the now repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" military rule as reason to keep military recruiting off their campuses. Too many Americans accepted the phony and hypocritical nature of this argument. In one instance colleges wanted homosexuals to serve openly in the military, yet in the next instance post DADT repeal, college students and faculty are still harassing military recruiters for being the military. Thousands of pro-union protesters emerged in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday to oppose a bill proposed by Republican Governor Scott Walker that would strip public unions of collective bargaining power.
