PICKET: (VIDEO) George Clooney arrested in Washington

Hollywood actor George Clooney was arrested in Washington on Friday in front of the Sudanese Embassy. Democratic lawmakers were also arrested at the scene. According to reports, others arrested at the protest in front of the embassy were: Clooney’s Father Nick Clooney, President of United to End Genocide and former Congressman Tom Andrews, Congressmen Jim McGovern, D-MA, Al Green, D-TX, Jim Moran, D-VA., and John Olver D-MA, Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous, and Enough Project Co-Founder John Prendergast.

Mr. Clooney was in Washington this week testifying on Capitol Hill about his Satellite Sentinel Project. Clooney founded the project in 2010.  His organization uses satellite technology to watch for human rights abuses and conflict in the area of the Sudan.

Clooney previously spoke to the Washington Times affiliated radio show America’s Morning News and appeared optimistic about receiving support from President Obama regarding Clooney’s ideas for the Sudanese people.
