Gallup is reporting today that Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney closed a five point gap between himself and President Barack Obama following last Wednesday’s debate in Denver. According to Gallup: 

Registered voters’ preferences for president are evenly split in the first three days of Gallup tracking since last Wednesday’s presidential debate. In the three days prior to the debate, Barack Obama had a five-percentage-point edge among registered voters.

Between September 30th and October 2nd, Gallup showed Obama at 50 percent and Romney at 45 percent. After Romney’s solid performance at the debate, Gallup’s poll between October 4th and October 6th showed both Romney and Obama evenly split with 47 percent each.
