Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney is closing in on President Barack Obama’s lead in the state of Connecticut according to the latest Rasmussen poll. Rasmussen now says that Obama now has a six point lead over Romney :

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds Obama with 51% support to 45% for Romney. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided.
In a U-Conn/Hartford Courant poll of likely voters last month President Obama had a 21 point lead over Mitt Romney:

This is a remarkable leap forward for Mr. Romney in the Nutmeg State and shows the Republican ticket is showing momentum in the blue areas like New England since the debate in Denver. Mr. Obama won Connecticut in 2008 with a little over 60 percent of the vote. The last Republican presidential candidate to carry Connecticut was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
