Glenn Beck's inaugural ball for 'misfits'

He once staged a massive “Restoring Honor” rally for personal liberty and traditional values at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, in shirt sleeves and a bulletin proof vest. But Glenn Beck has evolved from standard public events. The independent media mogul and former Fox News personality is now located in Dallas, and plans to send up President Obama’s big inauguration day doings in the nation’s capital with some Texas-sized hijinks.

“It’s an epic Misfits Ball. While that guy is having his ball, we’re having ours,” Mr. Beck says, noting that the black-tie event is for everyone who’s just not part of the Obama in-crowd.

The ball will take place Jan 20 in his expansive studios and feature a red carpet walk, among other things. But who’s going?

“It should be everyone who is no longer welcome in ‘Obamaland’ … whoever’s not allowed in that guy’s America,” Mr. Beck says.

He’s bandying about a guest list and welcomes suggestions from the public. On the roster of potential guests so far: National Rifle Association chairman Wayne LaPierre, Rep. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican; former Florida congressman Allen West, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Ted Nugent and representatives from Chic-Fil-A, Hobby Lobby and Gibson Guitars.

And a few more suggestions have come in from Mr. Beck’s audience: Herman Cain, Star Parker, plus Ann and Mitt Romney.
