There are cultural moments, then there are cultural moments. On the very day that Americans discover that Beyonce Knowles will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” during President Obama’s inauguration on Jan. 20, GQ magazine has another announcement regarding the beauteous chanteuse.

She’s their new cover girl. In red leopard print underwear and a very appreciated sports top.

“The 100 sexiest women of the 21st century. Starting with Beyonce,” the magazine advises.

And in the words of the sages, but not the political strategists, “that’s showbiz.”
