The Wizards and Bobcats will meet Sunday at 6pm the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte for the fourth and final time this season. The Bobcats leads the series 2-1.
The Wizards are coming off of win over the Cavaliers on Friday that saw two records set and one record tied.
Rookie guard Jordan Crawford’s triple double (21 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) combined with a triple double in November against the Rockets made the Wizards the first team on NBA history to have two rookies record triple doubles in the same season.
Wizards forward Andray Blatche set a franchise record with 16 offensive rebounds, out of a career high 19.
The triple doubles by Wall and Crawford added to one recorded by center JaVale McGee against the Bulls on March 15 (11 points, 12 rebounds, 12 blocked shots) made d the Wizards the first team since the 2002-2004 L.A. Lakers to have three players record a triple double in the same season. The Lakers accomplished the feat with Kobe Bryant, Gary Payton and Karl Malone.
The Wizards (19-56) will face the Bobcats (32-43) and could see a familiar face in the starting lineup – Wizards former first round pick Kwame Brown. Brown spent four seasons in Washington before being shipped to the Lakers, followed by stops in Memphis, Detroit and now Charlotte.
The move seems unusual, as Brown is reunited with former Wizards President Michael Jordan, who now owns the Bobcats, and who drafted Brown. Brown has been considered a bust, and Jordan has received a great deal of criticism for drafting him.
It could be a reunion to keep an eye on. The Wizards and Bobcats tip off at 6pm.
