In other NBA-related lockout news, both sides remain far apart, with Wizards guard and players union VP Maurice Evans calling the most recent meetings “productive”, while Hunter has gone on record saying that the season could be in jeopardy. Stern has said he believes there will be a season.
The owners say they will accept a 50-50 split of Basketball Related Income (BRI), but continue to ask for a hard salary cap, contracts of three to four years, and a new CBA to span 10 years.
The players, who know that BRI will not remain at 57 percent, have proposed a figure around 54 percent, a flexible salary cap, contracts of five to six years and a new CBA to span about six years.
