The Washington Wizards will start their training camp on Dec. 9 at Verizon Center.

The lockout shortened 66-game season, and the short amount of time between camp, free agency and the start of the season, made Verizon Center the best option, according to Wizards owner Ted Leonsis made the announcement on his blog “Ted’s Take”.

Last year, the team opened training camp at the Patriot Center at George Mason University.

The league also announced that each team will play two preseason games, but the schedules and opponents for those games has not yet been released.
