The Wizards waived center Hamady Ndiaye on Tuesday, bringing the number of players on the roster down to 14. Ndiaye, who’s known by his teammates and coaches as “H”, played in just three games for the Wizards this season. Ndiaye also played for the Wizards D-League affiliate Iowa Energy, appearing in 10 games.
Ndiaye was originally selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 56th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. His right were traded, along with the rights to Trevor Booker, in exchange for the rights to Lazar Hayward and Nemanja Bjelica, on draft night 2010 and was re-signed by the Wizards as a free agent on Dec. 11, 2011.
Ndiaye was the only player on the Wizards roster is the only player on the roster with a non-guaranteed contract. Had the Wizards kept Ndiaye past Friday, his contract would have become guaranteed.
