PHILADELPHIA — The Wizards (1-9) are in Philadelphia to face the 76ers (7-3), hoping to get not only their second win of the season, but their first road win as well. Guard John Wall made it clear after the team’s loss to Chicago on Wednesday that they don’t want a repeat of last season, when they started off 0-25 on the road until beating the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 13, 2011.
Andray Blatche did not make the trip. Blatche is in New York to consult with a shoulder specialist about his sore right shoulder. Blatche also sat out the Wizards last game in Chicago. He is listed as day-to-day, but if Blatche’s Twitter account can be trusted, it could be a while.
Blatche tweeted “No good news from the shoulder doc smh” on Friday.
Blatche did play in the Wizards first and only win of the season over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday at Verizon Center, but he came off the bench in that game. Trevor Booker started in his place. Blatche, like everyone else on the Wizards, is struggling with his shot, averaging 39 percent from the floor, and 11.8 points per game.
