The 57th presidential inaugural parade rolls down Pennsylvania Avenue. The first couple delight many of the thousands in attendance by emerging from their car to walk the route for portions of the parade. Metro officials revealed that as of 4 p.m., the D.C. transit system had carried 538,000 riders — two-thirds of the ridership in the same period on the day of Mr. Obama's 2009 inauguration. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
