Saying he is looking forward to a “quieter time,” Sen. Mike Johanns, Nebraska Republican, announced Monday that he won’t run for re-election in 2014. Mr. Johanns is in his first Senate term. He served as Nebraska’s governor for two terms and was secretary of agriculture for President George W. Bush. He is the fifth senator in recent weeks to announce plans to retire. (Associated Press)
