West Virginia Sen. Robert C. Byrd, the longest serving member in the United States Senate, died at the age of 92 on Monday, June 28, 2010.  Mr. Bryd served more than 50 years in the Senate after being elected in 1958.  He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1952.
