"This is just a good place to get peace of mind," says Stephen Askins of New Carollton, Md., who came to the Reflection Terrace in Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Md. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 to "get away from it all" for a little while. Askins, who has lost both his parents and grandparents, said he did not know that this spot is a memorial to the 2002 Washington area sniper victims. In the foreground, someone left flowers at the memorial, presumably in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the attacks. (Barbara L. Salisbury/The Washington Times)
