The Parkmobile app on the iPhone. In Chinatown on Thursday, July 28, 2011, Mayor Vincent C. Gray announced the completion of pay-by-phone parking across the District. The Parkmobile system allows motorists to use a mobile app, the Internet, or a toll free phone call to pay for parking based on the zone that they park in. Customers can now use their mobile phones to pay for parking at all of the District's approximately 17,000 on-street metered spaces. (Pratik Shah/The Washington Times)
