Location:

Boat tours leave from the Mount Vernon wharf, which is about a 10-minute walk from the front gates of Mount Vernon.

Parking:

Spaces are plentiful and free, but later in the day, the walk from the lot may be long.

Cost:

The entrance fee to the Mount Vernon grounds is $9 for adults, $8.50 for senior citizens 62 and older, $4.50 for children 6 to 11, and free for children 5 and under.
Boat fares:
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens 62 and older, $4 for children 6 to 11, and free for children 5 and under.

Schedule:

Tours leave at 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday through Sunday.

A five-hour cruise to Mount Vernon leaves from Pier 4 at Sixth and Water streets SW Tuesday through Sunday until Oct. 1. Boats make a round trip from the Old Town Alexandria waterfront to Mount Vernon from mid-March through Columbus Day. The cruise departs at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and returns at 4:50 p.m. The Potomac Riverboat Co. offers the tours, which leave from the Alexandria City Marina at King and Union streets, directly behind the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
