Equity Homes is building 46 single-family homes at the Greens at Montgomery in Laytonsville, where one-third of the community is devoted to open space. Each home will be built on a 2-acre lot, some along the golf course, and all buyers will enjoy resident privileges at Montgomery Country Club.

Each home will have a brick front and stoop, a brass coach lamp, a copper roof on the bays and porches, beaded vinyl siding, professional landscaping, and a side-entry two-car garage with a brick front.

Inside, all seven models include four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a gas fireplace with a marble surround, 9- and 10-foot ceilings, six-panel doors, oak stairs, hardwood flooring in the foyer and kitchen, a structured wiring package, Corian counters and 42-inch cabinets in the center-island kitchen, ceramic tile flooring in baths, a master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower, two-zone heat and air conditioning, gas heat and hot water, and crown, chair-rail and shadowbox moldings.

The homes range in size from 3,007 to 4,321 finished square feet, with base prices from $564,900 to $699,900.

The Lancaster model, with 4,321 square feet, is priced from $664,900 to $699,900 depending on the lot. This home features a two-story foyer with a curving staircase, arched openings and decorative columns in the living room and dining room, a library, a family room with two walls of windows and an arched opening to the bay-windowed breakfast area and center-island kitchen. Upstairs, the master suite has a bay window, a sitting room, a juice bar, two walk-in closets and a bath. Each of the three additional bedrooms has a walk-in closet and a connecting or private bath.
