Hoyas report

Yesterday at McDonough Arena:

20Games Georgetown has played at McDonough Arena since the 1982-83 season, when the Hoyas adopted Capital Centre as their official home court. Over that span, Georgetown is undefeated on campus.

PLAY OF THE GAME

San Jose State needed all the scoring help it could get, so even Georgetown forward Brandon Bowman contributed to the Spartans’ box score. With 3:37 before halftime, San Jose State 6-foot-11 center Matt Misko pulled up for an 18-foot jump shot beyond the foul line. Misko’s shot was altered when Georgetown’s 7-2 center Roy Hibbert ran out at him. Bowman, who was crashing the weak side, tried to clear Misko’s brick off the rim but instead tapped the ball in, and Misko was credited with the basket.

SEEN AND HEARD

Roy Hibbert, Georgetown’s 7-foot-2 center, turned 18. Georgetown’s student section sang “Happy Birthday” during warmups.
