Hoyas report

Last night at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu:

16 Undefeated Division I men’s teams through Sunday, with two of those (Oral Roberts and Hawaii) in this week’s Rainbow Classic.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Oral Roberts sophomore forward Caleb Green put on an impressive show against the Hoyas. Green, who entered the game as the team’s leading scorer (17.9 points), had 20 first-half points en route to a game-high 26. The athletic Green did most of his damage on driving moves. Early in the second half, Green walked through Georgetown’s team huddle during a timeout and fired an elbow into the chest of 7-foot-2 freshman center Roy Hibbert. Official Lonnie Dixon pulled Green aside and warned him, but no technical foul was called.

SEEN AND HEARD

When Oral Roberts began its warmups with a four-corner passing drill, every Golden Eagles player started screaming at the top of his lungs in a motivation chant. The only part that could be deciphered was “it’s real.” … A spectator held up three signs with the same message — “Hey ref, you really stink.” … Each starter was presented with a lei when he was introduced before tipoff.
