Last night at MCI Center
KEY NUMBER
3Double doubles by Georgetown forward Brandon Bowman before the game, tied for fourth best in the Big East this season.
QUOTABLE
“We couldn’t go in [the lane], they are just too physically imposing.”
— Howard coach Frankie Allen on Georgetown’s nine blocks for the game.
SEEN AND HEARD
UNDEFEATED, BABY: This is to clear up any misconceptions of what is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference team and what is not a MEAC team. According to Georgetown’s team spokesman, the Hoyas never have lost a game to a MEAC team. During the 1942-43 season, the Hoyas lost 57-42 to Norfolk State, but at that time the school was a military academy and should have a separate listing in Georgetown’s media guide. Thus, after beating Howard, Georgetown is 45-0 all time against the MEAC.
GREEN IS GOLD: Just how important is freshman forward Jeff Green to the Hoyas? Coming in, the 6-foot-8 Green was leading the Hoyas in assists (29), rebounding (7.7), blocked shots (20), and minutes played (34.7).
