Seen and heard last night at MCI Center:
BYE BYE, BC -- Boston College's defection to the ACC doesn't come without a price. Following the lead of Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun, Georgetown will not schedule BC after the Eagles enter the ACC.
"Boston College has indicated that their goals, priorities and methods do not coincide with those of the Big East," Georgetown coach Craig Esherick said in a recent Q&A on the Hoyas' Web site. "Without common goals, priorities and methods, there is no reason to schedule them for competition. I consider [Eagles coach] Al Skinner a friend, and I wish him luck in the ACC."
GETTING NOTICED -- Heading into the game with BC, Georgetown's undefeated record has created at least two believers. For the first time this season, the Hoyas received that many votes in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.
IT'S ABOUT TIME -- This was the first time BC has played in Washington since the 1998-99 season. Part of the reason is the Big East's two-division format that started with the 2000-01 season. The Eagles were placed in the conference's East Division and Georgetown in the West. During that time, teams played crossover opponents once, and in some seasons did not play teams from the other division at all. Before this meeting, Georgetown and BC played twice, and the Hoyas won both games in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
