How did you get started in real estate? I was an agent in Great Falls 17 years ago and was quite successful. Due to a divorce and faced with supporting my two sons and myself, I went to work for IBM and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. (Freddie Mac), providing information technology solutions, such as customer relationship management software and wireless laptops and personal digital assistants (PDAs), for their sales forces.

How long with the current company? Since mid-March

License: Maryland real estate sales

Greatest accomplishments in past 12 months: Helping feed and clothe homeless people in Rockville; seeing my younger son, Justin, graduate from high school; making the transition to a career that I love and pursue with a passion; chartering and captaining a 50-foot sailboat in the British Virgin Islands.

What is your area of specialty? Potomac

Highest-priced home sold: $1.2 million

Most memorable house: A home in Round Hill, Va., with a replica of a cobblestone street in Georgetown in the basement with the owner’s antique Mercedes Benz convertibles on display.

Worst experience: I recently sold a home for over list price. We had several offers over list price — all ready, willing and able buyers. We had to go through several lenders and their appraisers before we could get the appraisal to match what the market was willing to pay for the home. In this market, you hear of this happening more frequently. It’s frustrating for all parties involved in the transaction, but all turned out well in the end.

What is your personal dream house? A large sailing catamaran in the Caribbean.
