10-2 Record Georgetown is hoping to take to Morgantown for a Jan. 11 game against West Virginia. Beginning with yesterday’s game, the Hoyas have a stretch of seven consecutive games in which they should be favored by double-digits, if there is a line at all (Fairfield, Stetson, Savannah State, Colgate, UTEP or Mississippi Valley State, Providence and at St. John’s). A loss against any of those opponents would be both surprising and potentially devastating to the team’s NCAA tournament hopes.

QUOTABLE

“Without a doubt [Georgetown is the best team we’ve played]. They’re really good. They can pound you inside, shoot over you. They get after it and play hard. They have length on the wings, big guys who can move, nice motion, understanding and patience. Yeah, they can beat you a lot of ways.”

PLAY OF THE GAME

Jack the Bulldog established the tone for the ugly game that followed when his first act after leading the Hoyas onto the floor was to scramble over to the sideline and defecate across from the visiting bench. The dog’s handlers immediately removed both the sloppy canine and his welcoming statements from the floor.
