Hoyas senior forward Darrel Owens hit a 3-pointer that was the turning point. With the score tied 54-54 and 2:43 left, Owens nailed a 20-footer from the top of the key as the buzzer sounded on the shot clock. Georgetown never trailed again.

SEEN AND HEARD

In a pregame ceremony, Georgetown junior forward Brandon Bowman was honored as the 35th member of Georgetown's 1,000-point club. Bowman, Georgetown's leading scorer at 15.3, joined this elite company Feb. 2 in a 61-51 home victory over Seton Hall. He was presented with a replica ball and finished with 15 points against West Virginia to leapfrog Joe Missett (1954-57) into 30th place on the Hoyas' all-time scoring list.
