Hoyas Report

Last night at MCI Center:

KEY NUMBER

2:13

It took Georgetown freshman Roy Hibbert to collect three second-half fouls. The 7-foot-2 Hibbert spent virtually the entire half on the bench. Despite Hibbert’s selection as last week’s Big East rookie of the week and his game-winning dunk against Notre Dame on Sunday, the Hoyas’ offense flows far more smoothly when he is consigned to the bench.

QUOTABLE

“[Jeff Green] is the best freshman in the league by far.”

— St. John’s coach Norm Roberts

SEEN AND HEARD

Next Wednesday’s game against Seton Hall has been declared retro night at MCI Center. The 8 p.m. game will be televised on ESPN Classic, and fans are encouraged to come wearing their 1980s finery. The slogan for the night: “Be cool, go old school.”
