Last night at Verizon Center

SEEN AND HEARD

Wizards center Etan Thomas played just 25 minutes in the Wizards’ 114-101 loss to Atlanta on Friday, and yesterday it was revealed why: He’s injured.

Thomas will be out with a lower-back sprain for perhaps the next week, maybe longer, coach Eddie Jordan said.

“It’s been bothering him for about the last seven or eight days,” Jordan said. “Last night the pain got really bad, so the best thing to do for him right now is rest him.”

The Wizards are optimistic that Thomas will be back before the end of the regular season.

BY THE NUMBERS

0 Points scored by the Wizards bench through three quarters. All 16 of the reserves’ points came in garbage time in the fourth quarter.

KEY TO THE GAME

With Dwyane Wade on the bench for all but three minutes in the third quarter because of foul trouble, the Wizards managed just a season-low 12 points in the third quarter.
